In the month of October 2007, I started CHUMA SPIRIT Magazine, an affiliate of CHUMA SPIRIT Books, LLC, with the intention to bring forth an enlightening and truthfully uncensored publication of consciousness to my readers.
Covering various topics such as spirituality, health and well being, physical fitness, sexuality, same-gender-loving and gay and lesbian subjects, finance, HIV/AIDS, books, music, African American history and topics, race issues, some political issues and current affairs, amongst other issues prevalent to the magazine's format, I endeavor to inform, inspire, and liberate.
With the assistance of guest writers and regular columnists, this magazine aspires to provide an open dialogue and a free expression that is grounded in integrity; sometimes raw, yet palpable for the literary and conscientious community.
Through features such as Poem of the Month, where poets can submit their works for selection to be displayed, and Extraordinary People, which will cover people who are doing amazing things in the community and/or triumphed adversity, this magazine intends to honor those not usually exposed.
There will be sidebar displays such as Quote of the Week, Independent Business Owners, and Artistic Events--just to name a few--where hyperlinks will direct readers to further information.
Overall, this magazine intends to be a colorful vision of empowerment and awareness in the wonderful community of blogging, so please subscribe by typing your email address in the free subscription field on the home page, and look forward to regular updates and postings.
